Our DIY monogram message board is a perfect message board but also stands alone as decoration to add some color in your room. Use pushpins to post notes into the foam core board, or let the monogram stand out as the decoration by themselves, either way it will look fantastic. Total time for this DIY monogram message board is only about 15 minutes (not including drying time for paint). How's that for a quick room redo project? We chose teal and white fabric since those were the colors of Chloe's room redo, and we loved how this project turned out. Easy, functional, and makes a statement... just what she wanted.
Supplies Needed:
Foam Core Board Monogram Letters in lightweight wood or plastic Wood glue (or appropriate glue) Paint Fabric in the colors you need Stapler Scissors Newspaper, or outdoor paint area
Step 1: Gather Supplies
Step 2: Cut Fabric with 1-1/2" to 2" inches border extra.
Step 3: Staple corners first pulling them snug and layering them so that the front looks even and crisp. Then pull the sides up and staple. Tip: If you've never stapled corners before, the goal is to make sure they are pulled tight in the front and that they are not puckering. Practice folding before stapling. It's easy after you have completed your first corner.
Step 4: Spray paint letters to desired color. Let dry.
Step 5: Glue letters to fabric covered board. Let dry.
Step 6: Voilà, you have a push pin message board with your monogram!
