My favorite boyfriend (jeans)

FASHIONKim & Chloe1 Comment

Ever since Katie Holmes rolled up her baggy jeans and the current boyfriend jeans trend was "born," this super-easy, relaxed style has had fashion staying power. And 2013 is a breakout year for the boyfriend jeans with every celeb sporting a pair to grab a latté or go shopping. Skinny jeans are still hot, but boyfriend jeans are a nice break in a week of super tight looks... and we love how we can mix our wardrobe and tailor our look on top while keeping things loose on the leg. But just because we can borrow from the boys, doesn't mean our "boyfriend jeans" need to look sloppy. They should be loose, but fitted across the waist and hips. They can either be straight and rolled to a taper, or cuffed to about an inch above the ankle. The thighs look best loose, and our favorite pairs taper in the leg, usually to a 12" to 14" opening. Our biggest issue has been finding a pair with a rise that doesn't make us look like we are wearing a saggy pair of diapers, but maybe we just don't live up to our Kardashian namesakes.

Brands we like range from the Gap (we found some on sale for under $20) to J Brand, Current Elliott, Paige, Citizens of Humanity, J.Crew and more. Finding the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans just means looking around, shopping, and trying them. Not all that different from finding a good boyfriend.

DIY Boot Trees

DIYKim & Chloe1 Comment

These DIY boot trees are simple, fast and colorful. Plus, necessary if you have tall boots. If you follow me on Twitter, you know I'd been looking for boots forever! I finally found the perfect pair and enjoy the ease of knowing what to wear with practically every outfit. It's amazing how a simple pair of tall leather boots can dress up a pair of jeans and make you stand a bit taller. They were worth the wait. But the one thing I had forgotten about boots was that once they are out of the box... they flop. They don't stand up straight and they just made my newly organized closet look downright sloppy and floppy.

I knew I needed boot trees, but I also didn't want to invest any more money in my perfect boots (I have to be the only person who did not buy my post Christmas boots on sale). So, a fast, easy and cheap DIY was needed. And our easy-to-make boot trees definitely fulfill all 3 requirements. Customize yours with any colors and send us a photo!
