As soon as Chloe and I hop off the plane in NYC, one of the first stops we make is the flagship Kate Spade store. Although other stores have popped up around the country, there is something about knowing you are in the main store that makes you feel like you are in Kate's home as you wander room to room. Kate Spade clothes and accessories give Chloe fantastic design inspiration, plus she loves everything retro with a quirky sense of humor, and I always get fashion inspiration to try to break me out of my "black is best mode." Soho is an easy intersection where you are sure to find fashion-forward designs, interesting art, and lust-worthy shopping. After a fashion feast, we head around the corner to our fave brunch spots and cupcake counters. Our single complaint with uber-perfect Kate Spade is that the prices are not as teen-friendly as we would like, so purchases beyond phone cases, accessories, and sale items are saved for something special. Of course, there is always something special around the corner, but *sigh* why hasn't there been a Kate Spade lower priced line?
So we are delighted that soon Kate Spade Saturday will arrive. Not the day of the week, although it's the inspiration for the new brand which will arrive in Spring, but an entire new collection which will be launched online. It won't be available in Kate Spade stores, but will be available at Saturday.com, We must admit we are holding our breath for a store... and you can bet we'd be first in line. Although the new collection of clothes, accessories, home goods and more is targeted to the post-collegiate crowd, it looks fun, flirty, and much more affordable. Count us in every day of the week.
