Chloe loves makeup and loves to try new brands. But they don't always turn out to be as great as she hopes. So we decided to create a new column just for her: Teen Beauty Tips. Every few weeks she'll go shopping for makeup or beauty items. But since that's too easy, we wanted to make Chloe's Teen Beauty Tips Challenge a real challenge.. so she only has $15 to spend to come up with Teen Beauty Tips... and she can only spend it in a drugstore or similar store (CVS, Walgreens, Target, Rite-Aid....) Originally the amount was $10, but the price was too limiting since we wanted a variety of items in each article, so we upped the amount to $15 to make it a little more interesting for Chloe and you!! Enjoy her Teen Beauty Tips!
Rimmel London's Lasting Finish Lipstick in"Airy Fairy" is nice lipstick because the price is only about $4, which is amazing for the quality. I usually don't wear lipstick, because I feel that it looks too unnatural and fake on me, but this color is the perfect nude. It has a bit of shine which i like because it looks natural, and only has a bit of sparkle! Even though it is a nude color, it still has the perfect about of pink to it to make it look like you have some color to your lips. The only thing I don't like about it, is that it does taste a little bit strange and the smell is a little bit like watermelon, but other than that I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
e.l.f. Blush in pink passion is one of the best blushes i have tried! Not only is the price point perfect for any teen's wallet ($3 at Target!), but it is highly pigmented and great quality. I think that this blush will last quite a while, because it's in a pretty large pan. I also recommend this color, because if you lightly apply it then it really does look natural despite the fact that it is so bright! All in all i give this 5 out of 5 stars.
e.l.f. Tinted Moisturizer in Porcelain. I have never purchased a tinted moisturizer before, so I don't really have anything to compare this one to, but overall I think you get what you pay for ($3) with this. It doesn't have much coverage for problem areas, but it does have spf20 which is a high plus. The color that I chose matched my very pale skin tone perfectly! I don't think that this product would be suitable for a hot afternoon because it feels to thick and seems like it would be too heavy. But it might be nice for the rest of the year. I'll probably try it again during the fall, or again when we are not in the middle of a heat wave. I give this product 2 out of 5 stars.
Ardell Fashion Lashes in 135 Black. these were $3.95, and didn't come with eyelash glue but i had some at home that my mom bought. I have never tried false lashes before, and I am oh-so-happy that i tried them out! They weren't anything That i was expecting at all! First of all, I thought that they would be super-hard to apply, which they weren't.I also thought that they would be painful to take off, which they weren't! My mom told me that they looked very natural, which is a compliment! I would suggest practicing putting them on before you wear them to an event or something special, because first you want to get used to wearing them and second you want to make sure that you can put them on easily! The only reason these didn't get a perfect score is because you have to practice putting them on, otherwise it would be a perfect score and you can bet I'll be wearing them again! I give these 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Last but not least, I tried out Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo Spray for $2.47. This was also something I had never tried before, but I had been eyeing dry shampoos for a while but never picked anything up. This is a great product and it smells wonderful! It really does keep second and third day hair looking fresh. The only downside is that it does leave a white ashy esidue, but all you have to do is rub it in with your fingers/brush it out and it will go away! Because its not something I would use too often and because I would worry about a residue, I give this 3 out of 5 chloe stars!
Until the next $15 Teen Beauty Tips. ~Chloe
