Some days are just lazy days and we don't feel like "going all out" with our makeup. ? On those days, we just want a touch of color on our lips. ? We always like our lips to feel protected and soft, so we chose three popular makeup lines to compare. ? We weren't focused with a true nude look (we'll save that review for another day)... we just wanted a light sheer lipstick that felt great. ? Here’s our take from luxe to less to find out how they perform:
If you are going to be luxurious, why not go for the iconic Chanel? ? Buying a top notch lipstick only sets up back about $20 more dollars that the drugstore brand. ? Worth it? Absolutely! ? We splurged on? Rouge Coco Shine by Chanel? to get our luxe fix, and have? no regrets. The subtle scent of Chanel makeup makes us feel très chic, and the feel of the lipstick is plush and luxurious. ? Plus, we loved being able to get professional advice about colors, and try on a few different shades before we made a purchase.
We are huge fans of Yes to Carrots because they are natural, smell minty, and glide on easily. ? Coral Sunshine is a very sheer color with just a hint of corally shimmer.? It’s almost nude and you can apply it quickly ? and not worry about staying perfectly “in the lines” because it blends in with your lip color. ? We also loved the little tingle it gave our lips and the nice fresh smell.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick has a thicker consistency than the other two brands we tried, and gave us the most coverage. ? We love the color we chose, Just Enough Buff, and think that if it's good enough for Halle Berry, it has to be pretty close to perfect. And, after testing, we realized that this shade is ideal. ? It has a bit of shimmer in it, is long-lasting, and provided full coverage while still looking natural.
