Friends with Great Jeans

I’m a jean addict and can’t get enough of them. I’ll wear them anywhere for just about anything, and feel that if you add a pair of high heels, they truly can go just about anywhere. It used to be that I only felt comfortable wearing a dark wash jean to dinner or drinks, but lately I’ll wear any style with heels. And my latest today’s favorite is this boyfriend pair of cropped & frayed jeans from Anthropologie. No worry about rolling them up, no fuss about them getting caught in my shoes, and my heels get the attention I think they deserve.

I’m delighted to have 2 friends sharing their jeans style with us today since seeing how others can take such an iconic piece of clothing and turn it into their own fashion statement is an art. And since they happen to be mother and daughter bloggers with a stylish European flair that comes so effortlessly, I’m especially excited!

My friend Annette at Lady of Style, is a very popular blogger (written up in The Wall Street Journal and starring in German fashion shows) yet has only been blogging for a little over a year. She’s has that enviable European je ne sais quoi that makes every outfit have a flair that is always flawless. Check out her post today to see how she styles her jeans for women.

Her daughter, Alena of Meet Me Stylish is also joining in our “friends with great jeans.” She’s attending the London College of Fashion, so obviously has a fabulous sense of style (like mother, like daughter & some seriously good genes & jeans), and Chloe and I both love her blog for inspiration. She had a joint blog until recently beginning her own blog, which has blossomed into a must-read. Chloe’s post at the Wiltshire Pantry shows how to wear jeans for studying… because that’s what she’s spending most of her time doing lately as she prepares for the end of her school year.

Do you turn to your friends and other blogs for style inspiration?

I’ve just been in the process of switching my wardrobe back to spring/summer! I was surprised to see the number of jeans I had stored away…denim capris, skinnies, light wash and dark wash jeans! Our secret? Between you and me I had a moment where I wanted to ditch all the colour and just wear jeans and blue and white striped breton tees, LOL. As much as I’m loving my dresses right now, jeans will always be right up there as favourites! You look fabulous in jeans Kim, and those heels rock! So great that you are collaborating with another mother and daughter that both blog. I’m looking forward to checking out Alena’s blog!

Oh, I’m a jeans addict, too! Even though I have more than enough, I always find another pair. I love to find thrift and vintage jeans for a bargain, too. :) Thanks for the inspiration.

Looking amazing!! Everything you are wearing is great, especially the shoes of course. But still… Everything. Now what is your daughter wearing with jeans? I saw Annette and Alena as I follow Annette from when she started (more or less).
    Love bloggy friends.

Cropped jeans + heels has been one of my favorite pairs recently! I don’t wear heels very often (wearing them around a very low-key college campus is a little awkward) but I absolutely love the look.

You’re just looking like you are having WAY too much fun. I gotta try these frayed jeans. Your necklace is wonderful, and your little sandal-cagey-booties are perfect with the two ends of the casual-formal spectrum. One of your best!

You guys look great. I love your shoes, and would love to wear them, although I can’t wear heels. I have to live vicariously. I , too, have quite a jean collection, but bought them all before my illness and leg sensitivity. I may try a boyfriend post next week.
