Thanks to the recommendation of Erin, who is always scouting flower shops for her bridal and engagement photo sessions, my mom and I had to check out Lavender Hill. I’m not going to lie, after spending some time learning about flowers from watching Carolyn, Grace, Paige and Elle and looking at these pictures I appreciate flowers on a whole new level. They really are nature’s work of art, and it’s amazing how much inspiration can come from such a tiny bloom. When we were admiring all of the beautiful flowers in the shop, Carolyn offered to make me a flower crown and I leaped at the opportunity (flower crowns are kinda my obsession). Once I put that crown on my head, I felt like I could take over the world, and once I had Katie that cat in my arms I felt like a princess.
It’s mysterious how a simple flower crown can make you feel like absolutely royalty and stand up a little bit taller. Now, I’m pretty convinced Kate Middleton secretly wears flower crowns, and if she’s not wearing an unbelievably soft and warm cashmere sweater like mine, perhaps she sports one of these amazing new sweatshirts from Everlane while at home (she is super-stylish, after all) and carries adorable kittens around in the palace 
. I would.
