Botanically yours

Black and white may not be what you think of when you think of Botanical Gardens, but this white skirt was begging to be worn and I was begging to go the Botanical Gardens. So on it went and off we went.

When my husband and I first got married, we would spend Sundays lounging in the Botanical Gardens reading the paper and picnicking. I’m not sure why we stopped, but I miss those days. And I was determined to show him that he did too. So when we all had a free hour together before dinner the other night we decided to meet up at the Botanical Gardens. The guys were definitely not on board with the plan, but coerced with dinner, they relented and since the gardens are so central, they couldn’t come up with any excuse to avoid the gardens any longer.

What inevitably happened is that once we arrived, both of the guys were so entranced that Chloe and I lost them. Twice. Once in the Japanese Garden and then at the Perennial Walk. At least they have good taste in their greenery and weren’t impatient while Chloe and I were also enjoying the scenery and snapping pics! Check out our Instagram for some flower shots we’ll be posting later! {Chloe’s photos from our outing are coming soon!}

Any places you feel like you have to “drag” your family to… but they enjoy once they are there?

    Lovely scenery! Men probably think a botanical garden is boring and something for real gardening freaks only ;-)

    Your look is so effortless chic and I am a huge fan of accessories and especially necklaces and arm candy!

    Gorgeous outfits and photos! I am the one who usually has to be “dragged” and then I have fun : > Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday!

    Great white skirt! I have one too and I am obnoxious with how many times I have posted in it. I am over on your post from friday trying to figure out how to get my blog post pics on to Instagram. I don’t think you are covering that on that post, but do you know how? I am following you on IG because I have been trying to get my blog onto instagram. (the photos). (I’m #51 over at Visible Monday today)

    What a fantastic location for your fashion photo shoot :) The green looks amazing as a backdrop with the black & white outfit. I wish I had a Botanical Garden nearby. I ‘only’ have Hyde Park which isn’t too bad to be honest (especially now in summer) but it’s lacking the tropical feel… lol

    Only… haha!!! Lucky you! Guess we can’t really have it all. But you get baby George, fab shopping, the accents… and Downton Abbey 6 months before we do!!! So that’s completely fair :)

    Wow, thanks for the great question! I’m going to check out your post… and will hop over to your blog :) I think this would be a great follow-up to our Instagram post - we didn’t realize how many people weren’t as familiar with Instagram as we had presumed. So, look for a post on this. I’m DEFINITELY not putting you off, but it’s probably better to do a post than try to respond in a this question since many people would probably want to know this same thing!!! It’s a great way to remind people what’s going on over at your blog and we want to make sure we give you step-by-step instructions. Thanks SO much for asking!

    And SO simple. Thanks, Jen!

    Thanks Patti, somehow, I’m surprised you’re the one who has to be “dragged” - you strike me as the go anywhere, anytime gal!

    It seems I’m always dragging my family on gardening adventures, and they always love it. I’m always paying for it later with my allergies. But it’s worth it for everyone!

    Cheers right back to you, Therese!!!!

    A crisp white skirt is always so perfect. Love the backdrop of the lush green gardens. I try to drag my family to the arboretum but they aren’t having it. :)

    Perfect. Just perfect. Nothing more woman-enhancing than good old black and white, with a touch of gold to show someone loves you enough to give you good jewelry. Beautiful neckline on your tee … just so feminine without a hint of cutesy. Elegant.

    Lovely pictures and you just can’t get better than classic black and white. It always looks good and you look great in this outfit!
